Purolator Quick Stop Kiosk
PHD Solutions worked with Purolator to create intelligent software for their first-of-its-kind standalone ‘shop and ship’ Quick Stop Kiosk.
Supporting the Quick Stop Kiosk hardware designed and built by a local kiosk manufacturer, PHD Solutions developed the software and easy-to-use interface to make the kiosk come to life.
For this project, we developed the software for two Purolator Quick Stop Kiosk products: the Quick Set-up Kiosk and the Quick Drop Kiosk.
The Quick Set-up Kiosk
The Quick Set-up Kiosk allows users to generate shipping labels for their parcels in four easy steps: they place their parcel on a scale and use the touchscreen to enter the parcel destination, pay for the courier service via credit card, debit card, mobile phone, or their Purolator account number, and print a customer receipt and parcel labels.
PHD Solutions was responsible for the development and integration of the UX, barcode scanner, label printer, receipt printer, weigh scale, enVision™ Dimensioner, payment terminal and other hardware peripherals. PHD Solutions also developed the User Interface Experience, integrated the hardware peripherals, as well as back-end software systems.

The Quick Drop Kiosk
The Quick Drop Kiosk serves as the intake step in the shipment process. Users scan the barcode provided on the shipping label they received from the Quick Set-up Kiosk, which opens the parcel door allowing the customers to place their parcel securely inside the kiosk. Once completed, the parcel door closes and the shipment tracking process begins.
PHD Solutions was responsible for the development and integration of the UX, custom-built motor controller, barcode scanner, label printer and other hardware peripherals.
